Air/ Ground Frequency for Monewden of 121.00

Call sign  " Ipswich Radio"
 
The field remains known as Monewden Airfield when passing point of departure and destination to ATC units, but the AFE and Pooley guides will be amended eventually to -  Ipswich - Monewden. This should make it easier for visitors unfamiliar with Monewden to orient the airfield in relation to a larger populated area.
 
The CAA have asked that we point out that transmissions should not be made beyond 20nm and 3000 ft .  By the way the standard range for A/G radios are usually limited to 10nm but the CAA have allowed us 20nm.
 
The frequency is not always manned but blind calls are welcome. Non radio traffic will continue to use Monewden so do not presume you are "alone" in the circuit.  Wattisham should still be contacted above 500 ft on climb out and in local area.
