Horizon
Flying Club was formed in 1980 and moved to Monewden Airfield in June of
2004.
The Club’s aim is to provide a friendly environment in which aviators
and enthusiasts can socialise and relax whilst also providing a sound
base for training. Club members will often meet at the airfield, not to
fly, but simply to sit down and chat over a cup of tea. Other times,
members will congregate for one of the famous (or should that be
“infamous”?) fly-outs.
Bill Stitt, the club’s CFI, has been flying and instructing for many
years and can provide tuition at all levels and skills including ab
initio, IMC, Night Rating, Tailwheel Conversion, Instructor Rating and
Aerobatics. It is a fairly safe bet to say that Bill has seen it all in
the pilot training world! Often, his students will hear him say “I saw
that happen….”!
Members are able to hire any of the club aircraft (which include Cessna
150s and a Piper PA28), with or without and instructor at very
reasonable rates.
We invite you to come and visit us to see for yourself and to meet other
members.
